Debbie first hit the stage with BLONDIE in 1974 and is still touring the world to packed stadiums and thousands of worshipers. Less well known, but equally impressive, are her talents and luminous screen presence as an actress. Debbie’s first film role was in David Cronenberg’s cult-classic Videodrome. From that point on, she has worked with a “Who’s Who” of cinema visionaries including John Waters (Hairspray), Peter Greenaway (The Tulse Luper Suitcases), and Isabel Coixet (My Life Without Me).
The part of “Beauty” was written for Debbie, who poured her heart and soul into the role. Debbie collaborated on the creation of her mermaid costume and make-up, contributing the scale tattoos and that to-die-for scalloped wig. Even as a mermaid, her charisma and beauty are undeniable.
